Apples, apples,apples

Hi friends....this is going to be a short little update!! We can sum up our week with... Apples!!:) We had a great week learning the life cycle, tasting different kinds of apples, identifying the parts and finally making applesauce!!:)

All that was left after our applesauce snack!!! The kids loved it!! They thought we did something really wonderful!

We.were.wrong, a freebie and lesson plans!!!

Happy first day of fall!!! We love this time of the year! Even though we hate to say good-bye to summer we love the cooler weather, leaves getting ready to change and of course all the wonderful scents of fall!! I mean...who doesn't love the smell of pumpkin??:)

Last week we thought MAYBE we were on our way of getting into a routine well... Not so much!!  Let's just say...full moon, a bullying assembly with Ronald McDonald, constitution assembly, and then throw in rain and an early out for Homecoming all together = CRAZYTOWN!!! Every teacher knows when there is a full moon without even looking!!:)

Somehow we still managed to get some stuff done!!! Here are some highlights!

               

The kids did enjoy the assembly as they learned about being a good friend and the importance of not bullying!

To help shake the wiggles we used a few brain breaks!! Apparently our kids love One Direction... I had no idea who they were!:)

                            

This week in the middle of the madness we decided to introduce centers... Yep, what were we thinking???

                            

                           

We are working on First Sound Fluency and thought we would share this little freebie with you guys!! Hope you can use it! 

We are hopeful that this coming week will be better and hopefully a whole lot calmer!!

Our kids are loving using Bingo Dabbers for letter ID. In our RTI Letter and Sound ID Pack we have a page for each letter of the alphabet!! 

The kids have enjoyed them so much we thought we would throw in a little freebie!! Hope you can find it useful!! :)

We MIGHT Survive!!!

Ok....we MIGHT make it!! 22 days and a couple of us are thinking we may survive this year! The beginning of the year has been ...anything but normal or easy!! Really...it is kicking our butts!!! However...there was a shimmer of hope this week. They seem to be getting into somewhat of a routine! We will keep going over procedures and THEY WILL GET IT!!!:)

We have really been trying to incorporate some Whole Brain Strategies. We are taking it slow and only doing a few but...it is amazing!! It is so exciting to see all the kids engaged and wanting to share what they are learning!! One of our favorites so far is "Mirrors" they love being the teacher !

The smallest little thing can get them excited!! Our kids LOVE using Bingo Dabbers to hunt for letters!! We created a RTI Pack for Letters and Sounds. After we introduce the letters using Fundations, we follow up with the RTI Pack and our ABC Sing and Read Pack. You can grab them by clicking on the picture below!!

It's a MEET-UP!!!

It's a meet up...Missouri style!!:) We are so excited to finally plan a meet up! We can't wait to meet a few wonderful blogging friends and share a few laughs and maybe...a couple ideas!:) If you are in Missouri (or...feel like a drive) we would LOVE to have you join us!!! If you know of anyone close...please spread the word!:)

We are BACK!!!

WOW...so once again we have been crazy busy with school and our little blog has been neglected!! We have made a promise that we are going to be better about this!! We hope that everyone has enjoyed the long weekend and you were able to relax and enjoy the last little bit of summer!! The four of us have been busy... Marsha and Lori spent the weekend with their families at the lake, Kaybeth celebrated the wedding of her son ( can't wait to hear about it and see pics) and me...well not so fun!! I spent the weekend cleaning! Like....crazy women cleaning! My kids and husband tried to avoid me for fear of what I would have them clean next! Anyways...after a few days it's done and who doesn't love a clean house!!:)
We are back into our routines at school...well almost!! We forget how long procedures take for Kindergartners!!!  We are still practicing our WBT procedures and let's just say we are loving it!! We are all learning as we go but we are excited to see what the year brings!
In between practicing and practicing some more we have accomplished a few things! We thought we would share!!

We are loving our ABC sing pack!!! We use Fundations to teach letters and sounds but this pack fits in nicely with it! After we introduce the letter we are working on for that week, we introduce the poem that goes with each letter. We start out whole group, then move to independent practice!! It is a great way to get started on tracking and one to one!!

So there you have it...a quick peek at a few things!! We are off to enjoy the last bit of this 3 day weekend!! We hope you have a wonderful week...only 4 days!!:)
