Lesson Plans!!!

Happy Sunday!! Where oh where has the weekend gone??? Speaking of where has it gone...this year is flying by! The end of the year paper work has already started! I will not stress, I will not stress, I will not stress!! If I say it enough will it work???
So with all the stress, of course comes a lot of fun!! In the weeks ahead we have some great stuff planned...field trip, relay recess, track day, kindergarten play and celebration!! So to get a head start on the end of the year...I started printing this little gem! This is by far one of our favorite creations. They do take some time to type, print and put together but...they are worth it!! What a great keepsake of the year!! :)

The EOY testing is just around the corner! It is so exciting to see the growth! The babies that walked in the door in August, some not knowing letters and sounds, are now readers!! That is why we LOVE kindergarten!! The growth is by far the best!! All the work and tears (sometimes from me, not always the kids) pays off in the end!! :)

On the agenda for this week...printing awards and certificates!! I will stay caught up!! :)

We have lesson plans!! We have a shortened week due to being off on Friday!! We hope you find something useful in them!!

Peek At Our Week and Flashlights???

Happy Sunday!! Really, Sunday already?? How can the weekend go SO quickly!! We have a peak at our week but before we do, I must share with you a little fun from the week...flashlights!! That's right...flashlights!

Ok...so this is NOT my original idea! I remember reading about it during the awesome "blog hop" this past time, but for the life of me can't remember who posted! So...if you know who the idea belongs to...please let me know so I can give them credit!!:)  The original idea was Flashlight Friday! The plan was for the last few minutes on Friday, turn off the lights and let them read by flashlights. Cute idea, I thought maybe 10 minutes of reading.

We had some crazy weather in Missouri last week!  On Thursday afternoon, it was storming like crazy! We only have one window in our room, so add dark clouds and a downpour and it was getting rather gloomy, even with the lights on! So...hello idea!! We grabbed the flashlights and went to town! Great chance to finish up progress monitoring...right! We quick went over some rules...and went to town! Before I knew it, 45 minutes had passed, I finished testing and they were still "reading" by flashlights! They LOVED the idea!! Not only that...but something happened and they were begging to take books home! What teacher is going to say no to that...not me!! The excitement was amazing! So...a BIG thanks to whoever came up with this idea...it will be a standard on Fridays (or rainy days) in our room!! And...maybe we ended with a few shadow puppets!!

Here is a peak at our week! We are linking up with our sweet friend DeeDee Wills!! Hop on over to see what everyone is doing this week!!:)
Here are our lesson plans..:)

Lesson Plans, Freebie and Giveaway!!

Hey Friends...Happy Sunday! So...I am not going to lie, we are a tad jealous about everyone being on Spring Break this coming week or just finishing up!  Are you ready to be jealous??? We get ONE, that's right ONE day off!!
Oh how we would love to have an entire week off!!:(
So...on the bright side...it is officially spring even though it surely doesn't feel like it here! To celebrate, we thought we would have a little giveaway!! Our kids are loving our Write the Room packs we have been creating for each month!! So...we will give a couple away to celebrate! We will pick the winners on Saturday!a Rafflecopter giveaway

We had a fun week!! The little leprechaun made a visit to our room and left a nice little mess but...along with the mess, he left some gold...in the form of glitter and candy!!

So...to add to the excitement of the week we also received a surprise in the mail!! Our 2 IPad minis arrived!!

We are beyond excited to be able to use them! We are still waiting to get the cases, but we can't wait to try them out!! I wrote a grant through Donors Choose. What a great experience and an AMAZING organization. In exactly one week my project was fully funded!  In about 5 days we had the IPads in our room! It is so nice to see people that just truly want to help each other out! I love that you can donate whatever amount you are able to give and for the first week they match each donation dollar for dollar up to $100!! How awesome is that??

Well...since we are in school this week while everyone else is relaxing on a beach somewhere or at least not setting an alarm, we thought we would share our lesson plans for the week!

Lesson Plans!!

Happy Sunday!!! It's time for lesson plans again!!! It is a short week for us since we have an early release on Thursday for parent/ teacher conferences. In the spring, we only meet with parents of at risk kids, either academic or behavior.
Last week, we finished up assessments for grade cards. Now... I just need to finish the grade cards!:( I am the worst at procrastinating about this!! I mean really... It's not like they are going to magically finish themselves, yet every time I come up with every excuse in the book!! No joke... I would rather mop floors than write comments!! Errr... Can someone just do it for me??:
Anyways... While I continue to clean house, fold laundry and just about anything but grades, we thought we would share our plans!! We are linking up with our dear friend DeeDee Wills for a peek at our week!!

Sight Word Practice!!

Bright ideas...we LOVE bright ideas!! I mean really...we are all educators so if we can come across something that will save us time and money...we are all game! Well...you have come to the right spot!! We are linking up with some AMAZING bloggers for a hop of just BRIGHT IDEAS!!

So sit back and enjoy the tips!!:)

Our "bright idea" is out the door practice with sight words!! They are everywhere...we dance to them, sing them, practice writing them...it is never ending practice!! However...sometimes you just need a little more!! And..then the light bulb comes on! How many times a day do you line up or students walk out of your room either for a trip to the bathroom, nurse, office...on and on and on!! So...words on the door! Before they leave they have to practice reading them! Here are a couple examples from our rooms!!
The clothesline above the door is adorable and easy to change out!! Just use the mini clothes pins, some yarn and two 3M hooks and you are done!!:)

Or...you can go a little easier and just stick them to your door!:)

We jazz it up...we use our best grumpy voice, opera voice and sometimes we just pick one and write it on the friends' back that is in front of us! Seriously...what kid doesn't love a fancy pointer! They are a must for reading. Have them by the door and bam...a fun way to read sight words! It takes just a few seconds but, a few seconds several times a day is great practice!!

Thanks for stopping by. Keep on hopping through the bright ideas! Up next is Ashleigh Swinford from Ashleigh's Education Journey. She has a bright idea to help with organizing your math manipulatives!!

If you would rather not hop in sequential order just pick a blog with an idea you would like to check out.
