Happy Sunday!! Really, Sunday already?? How can the weekend go SO quickly!! We have a peak at our week but before we do, I must share with you a little fun from the week...flashlights!! That's right...flashlights!
Ok...so this is NOT my original idea! I remember reading about it during the awesome "blog hop" this past time, but for the life of me can't remember who posted! So...if you know who the idea belongs to...please let me know so I can give them credit!!:) The original idea was Flashlight Friday! The plan was for the last few minutes on Friday, turn off the lights and let them read by flashlights. Cute idea, I thought maybe 10 minutes of reading.
We had some crazy weather in Missouri last week! On Thursday afternoon, it was storming like crazy! We only have one window in our room, so add dark clouds and a downpour and it was getting rather gloomy, even with the lights on! So...hello idea!! We grabbed the flashlights and went to town! Great chance to finish up progress monitoring...right! We quick went over some rules...and went to town! Before I knew it, 45 minutes had passed, I finished testing and they were still "reading" by flashlights! They LOVED the idea!! Not only that...but something happened and they were begging to take books home! What teacher is going to say no to that...not me!! The excitement was amazing! So...a BIG thanks to whoever came up with this idea...it will be a standard on Fridays (or rainy days) in our room!! And...maybe we ended with a few shadow puppets!!
