Happy almost 2014 friends! We had a great 2013 but are looking forward to the New Year! To celebrate we are starting off right...with a SALE! I mean really...surely you have not shopped enough lately!:) Everything in our store will be discounted 20% till mid-night on the 1st!
Hey Friends...guess what!! We have ALMOST made it! I am talking we have just a 1/2 day left! Wow...lets just say the last thing we needed on the week before break is a full moon...seriously! How.did.that.happen??? Despite the craziness...and let me say it was a whole new level of crazy...we had an awesome week with our Gingerbread men!! We read so many different stories, wrote about our gingerbread men, chased them around the school and finally made houses! Who doesn't love kids hyped up on sugar because maybe...they ate more candy than they put on their houses!! Of course...it was at the end of the day...I hope the bus drivers survived!!
I loved how these sweet pictures turned out! Ok...so they didn't get to creative with their thinking...but their drawings are precious! I LOVE the fox in the bottom right...look at his face!!! Adorable!
The kids LOVED the scavenger hunt for the missing gingerbread man! The best part...the treats at the end! We found this little freebie from littlekinderwarriors.blogspot.com It was wonderful and so fun!

Hey Friends....4 1/2 days..we can do this!! We are ready for a little break but we are excited about the week ahead...can you say Gingerbread week! That's right...its all about the Gingerbread! We will be reading different versions of the story and comparing them, searching for lost gingerbread friends and of course we will be making our own houses! Fun, Fun!
We have to share a few pictures from last week with our Polar Express pack! We read the story, then they divided into groups of 2 or 3 and had to work on the story element that they were assigned. Can I just say, they loved working together. After they finished, they had to share their part to the story. Loved it!

Hey friends....almost one year ago the unthinkable happened at Sandy Hook Elementary! We all can remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news. We prayed for the victims, the families and the town as the news began to spread of the horrific act of violence that had happened that day. We thought of those sweet little kids and their families and prayed that the Lord would give them the strength they would need to make it through. We prayed for the teachers that gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting the students that they loved and we wondered why on earth this could happen! We will never understand the "why" but we can do our part to remember those sweet little lives that were taken all too soon that day!
As the 1 year anniversary comes upon us, we are joining with some amazing teachers to remember. The mayor of Sandy Hook is asking people to honor and remember the lives taken by performing a random act of kindness on the 14th. Just think...if everyone did one act of kindness what a difference we could make in the lives of others!
We are teaming up with our blogging buddy Greg from Kindergarten Smorgasboard and committing to doing/showing kindness in remembrance of Sandy Hook!
We hope you will take the time to remember and do something heartfelt and kind in remembrance of the tragedy that happened that day!!
WOW...it's FRIDAY!! Man...we love saying that!! Thank goodness we survived a crazy week...we accomplished a successful Christmas program another year!! They certainly are adorable all dressed up but...the week of practice is crazy-town!!

Hey Friends...are you surviving??? We are barely hanging on around here!! Not only are we a few days away from a break but, it has been raining and nasty for the past several days so...inside recess!! Every teachers worst fear!:( 3 more school days till a little break...it is much NEEDED!!
Anyways...it's Friday so that means FREEBIE time!! We are so excited about 3 new packs that we have posted! We thought we would give you a little peak at our Polar Express pack!! We are giving you a story puzzle. After you read the story...really it could be any story, the kids work in small groups to retell the story using, characters, setting, problem, solution, beginning, middle and end. After they have worked to illustrate or write about their part, they put the piece back into the puzzle! After everyone has shared....you will have the whole puzzle and the whole story! We LOVE this idea! Not only does it promote cooperative learning, but it gets them thinking about the whole story!! We hope you enjoy this freebie! More to come about our other packs...this weekend!!

Hey friends...WOW what a week! Talk about turkeys...my little friends were acting like wild little turkeys this week!! I think we can survive till Thanksgiving break...I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!!!
In the midst of all the craziness that was last week, we still managed to start thinking about Thanksgiving! We read Turkey Trouble...we loved this book! While I was out blog hopping this week, I came across a cute idea to go along with this book from A Place Called Kindergarten. I thought they were so cute...we had to do it!! I absolutely love how they turned out! Now...I knew there might be some panic when I said "we are going to draw a turkey" so...what a perfect time for a guided drawing! Most of the time we are so busy trying to get it all in that we don't take the time for this. Let me say....it was great! Not only were they all engaged, but they also were so darn proud of how wonderful their little turkeys turned out!!
I especially love the "eat salad" picture...how cute is that!!!
Moving on...so our school has purchased an I-Pad Cart. It holds 25 I-Pads and we will be taking turns utilizing it between all the classes. Of course, we would all love to have all 25 all day long, but for now we are just excited for the time we will have with them! So...our question...are there any wonderful aps that you love and recommend?
We can't wait to use this!!!
This week begins our practice for our Thanksgiving Play! Every year we wonder why in the world are we doing this to ourselves...in the end they always end up being the cutest little pilgrims and indians. The kids always have so much fun, not to mention how much the parents love watching their little ones in a play!! Wish us luck!!
So we just have to share this cute little video we found from Harry Kindergarten on YouTube!! We love it and the kids... even if they don't understand the whole concept now, to hear them sing it with the "twang" is priceless!!
