Sight Word Practice!!

Bright ideas...we LOVE bright ideas!! I mean really...we are all educators so if we can come across something that will save us time and money...we are all game! Well...you have come to the right spot!! We are linking up with some AMAZING bloggers for a hop of just BRIGHT IDEAS!!

Our "bright idea" is out the door practice with sight words!! They are everywhere...we dance to them, sing them, practice writing them...it is never ending practice!! However...sometimes you just need a little more!! And..then the light bulb comes on! How many times a day do you line up or students walk out of your room either for a trip to the bathroom, nurse, office...on and on and on!! So...words on the door! Before they leave they have to practice reading them! Here are a couple examples from our rooms!!
The clothesline above the door is adorable and easy to change out!! Just use the mini clothes pins, some yarn and two 3M hooks and you are done!!:)

Or...you can go a little easier and just stick them to your door!:)

We jazz it up...we use our best grumpy voice, opera voice and sometimes we just pick one and write it on the friends' back that is in front of us! Seriously...what kid doesn't love a fancy pointer! They are a must for reading. Have them by the door and bam...a fun way to read sight words! It takes just a few seconds but, a few seconds several times a day is great practice!!

What We Had To Have and Lesson Plans!!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!! We love the simple wisdom that came from this man!! Here are a few of our all time favorite quotes!

We will be celebrating all week!! 

Around here it looks more like the beginning of January instead of March!! I just need Spring to come quickly!!! After a trip home last night, that was filled with sleet, freezing rain and stopping about 10 times to scrape the windshield (I am not even kidding), I am hanging out in my nice warm house and not going anywhere today!! I am hopeful we will have school tomorrow...NO.MORE.MAKEUP.DAYS!!!

Anyways...since I am not leaving, I thought I would link up with the great gals at Blog Hoppin' to show off what we grabbed during the TPT sale...man we love a sale!!

So we needed some more paper..we love variety and we also love coordinating pieces!! The perfect solution to both of those is the adorable pack from Ashley Hughes. We haven't ever bought anything from her that we have not loved!!! As a matter of fact...we have already put that paper to good use!!

And...you can NEVER have too many fonts and frames!! Check out these adorable frames from Lovin Lit...we certainly LOVE everything about them! We are so excited about the fonts from KB Fonts...there are a TON...111 to be exact!!

The adorable paper from KH Digi is screaming SPRING!! It makes me think of flowers...NOT snow!:)

So...of course to go with the frames and paper we had to have clipart...can you ever really have too much?? We didn't think so!!

Melon Hedz and Creative Clips are two of our very favorites!! They are some very talented ladies!! Man...if only I could draw!

We have some big plans for all the Pink Cat and K Is For Kinderific. I am sure you will be seeing a lot of it in some upcoming packs!!

So there you have it...that is what we had to have!!! We have already started creating with them!!:)

Lesson Plans!!

Can you believe that we are starting the last week of February? We are excited but...a tad stressed at the same time! Spring is on it's way...we just know it!:)

We finished this week focusing on Abraham Lincoln. We had a lot of fun with this great little pack from 

A Cupcake for a Teacher. We especially love the dark eye brows!!

Look how cute these turned out!!

This week we also had Kindness Week at our school. Each day the kids had a fun dress up day and we focused on being extra kind! Friday was dress like a super hero! We had a lot of different heroes, that ranged from Spider-man to doctors. However...this may be my favorite!! She was a great sport and her kids loved that she dressed up!! GO SUPERWOMEN!!:)

Superwomen was needing a little coffee early in the morning!!!

When we were changing out centers for this week, we decided to pull out some oldies but goodies! The kids love having things changed up and things a little different to work with. Here are a few of our favorites! We will be working on different activities to help with sight words, as well as tapping and blending. All of these products can be found at Scholastic, Lakeshore or School Specialty.

Lesson Plans...:)

Holy Cow...this Momma is tired!! It has been birthday party weekend! My sweet little chick turned 7 on Valentine's Day!! So that means...days and days of celebrating!! Last night, we had 7...yes 7...6 and 7 year olds stay the night!! They played, ate, sang and gave me a complete lesson on One Direction! How can they possibly know every word to every song???:) I see a nap in my future and some serious house cleaning!!:) 

I wanted to share a GREAT blog post from Erica Bohrer's at Erica's Ed-Ventures. She has done an amazing job of explaining how to get started on Teachers Pay Teachers!! She has some very informative tutorials that we are  excited to try! We have been doing this for a year and we still have so much to learn!! Go check it out...it is worth your time!:)
